stories
of some of the kids living at the Childrens home...
David Amoah, 6 years old
David was abandoned, found by Joseph Amewu and sent to Hohoe police station in a very weak state suffering
from extreme malnutrition.David was rushed to Hohoe hospital and efforts to find his family were made. The police located
them but because he had been abandoned.David was referred to All Children’s Home, At some point he is said to have
had tuberculosis and been confined in a “clean room”, utterly alone. This has resulted in a voluntary lack of
speech and because of this he was sent to All Childrens Home. With proper therapy he is now just beginning to speak.
Beliratu Alhaji Billa
Earlier this year Beliratu traveled from North of Ghana to the city of Accra with her older sister to look for job as
a “kayayo” (load carrier). During her usual rounds carrying things she was struck by a car. Beliratu was admitted
to Ridge hospital. After her discharge she had nowhere to go. With a cast still on her leg, Beliratu returned to Tema station,
which was where she lived and worked. The station is a large cemented parking lot and not safe for women to be alone, especially
a girl of her age. Beliratu was referred to O.A. for proper care and protection. She had never been to school and now currently
attends school at Peter’s Misson School and is in class 2. Her hobbies are playing ampe and going on excursions.
She is happy to be in the orphanage because 50% of her basic needs are met.
Emm
Ntiri, date of birth unknown (sometime in the early 1990s)
"In fact many things happened to me some years ago. Here goes: I did not find it easy at all when I was in primary and
JSS my father died and my mother, not having anything at hand sent me to one of my uncles at a village near Kade. In fact
I stopped school to help my uncle with the farming. Now I'm happy that God has blessed his people, including me and this is
one of my greatest moments that all things are running smoothly. I have everything in the house and my life is perfect. Children
here play with the house mothers more or less as if they were their own mothers. I want to study hard and become a political
scientist or to study law to become a lawyer and help the young brothers in the home here and the nation as a whole. What
a happy thought for All Childrens Home"

MARK BOATENG
"I lived in an orphanage and then, unsuccessfully, with several foster families, I never had a real family life. Furthermore
I was forbidden to study medicine so I ran away to All Childrens HOME where I knew they would help me. Currently I am in Secondary
School pursuing Science as I want to be a medical doctor.I hope that God will see my plans through for the future and I would
like to help All Childrens Home in the medical field and other aspects."

Enyonam Nkansah,
born on the 8th April 1991
"I was three years old when my mother died and I stayed with my auntie and I did not know that my own mother was dead,
I remember how I suffered. I lived with my aunt for 15 year before learning that my mother was not alive. When my auntie bought
a dress for me she would take me to the farm to weed. She hated me and I don’t know why, so when I completed J.S.S.
she told me she could not take care of me anymore and she kicked me out of the house. So I started working at the chop bar
to earn money. I had a baby still a teenager and All Childrens Home took us both in so I can continue my education.
I am praying for a long life so I can work hard to get my own money to buy a car than I will go to the village to visit her
one day and I will build a house for her. I promise it will be done. "
